Bulletins & Alerts
Review the most recent EMWIN text bulletins, severity-ranked alert cards, and linked LRIT graphics generated by the WeatherView downlink services. Updates stream in continuously from the background collectors.
What is EMWIN?
EMWIN (Emergency Managers Weather Information Network) delivers National Weather Service text bulletins— warnings, advisories, aviation forecasts, and emergency messages—over satellite and internet links. WeatherView ingests these files in real time, summarizes the key points, and flags the most critical alerts for quick review.
What is LRIT?
LRIT (Low Rate Information Transmission) is the GOES satellite broadcast that delivers imagery, graphics, and quick-look products such as surface analyses and regional mosaics. WeatherView captures these LRIT products, makes them browsable in the explorer, and links them directly to associated bulletins when available.
Severity quick guide
Extreme bulletins auto-trigger explanation because they may signal immediate safety or high-impact operational risk. Lower severities stay readable but require a click on “Explain this bulletin” so you can request extra context only when needed.
